They say that in Damascus, crossroads of the silk road, weavers created a cloth so sumptuous in pattern that it took the city's name: damask. This rug carries on that spirit — a large, symmetrical floral design of flowers, palms and scrolls answering one another endlessly, in a blend of saffron, amber and burnt earth.

A cloth become a rug

Tone-on-tone does it all: depending on the light, the pattern seems now matt, now silky, as if the pile caught and released the glow. A warm and precious piece, evoking Venetian palaces as much as eastern bazaars.
