The saffron garden
The story goes that in the heart of Lhasa, an old monk painted a lotus each morning on the saffron-coloured walls of his temple. When he passed away, legend says, the flowers refused to fade and began climbing the columns on endless stems. This rug has gathered that garden: rows of lotuses in full bloom on a deep orange ground, like a monk's robe in the sun.
A bloom that climbs towards the sky
Watch the flowers open one by one — turquoise blue, gold yellow, tender green, garnet red — linked by scrolls and little clouds, that motif so dear to Himalayan art, where every cloud carries a wish. Hand-knotted in thick, plush wool, the pile reveals a drawing of great finesse, almost embroidered.
The Codillection spirit
Part of our Codillection, Lhassa warms and brightens. Its solar orange wakes up a restrained interior, plays with wood and blue velvet, and turns a living room into a warm, vibrant, welcoming sanctuary.
